Old Sites
Prior to Hotcourses, I worked in a couple of other companies and did a little bit of freelance work. After graduating University in 2000, I started work for an Internet start-up called smove.com. This was a property web site where people could list their homes and although the site did not take off due to lack of funds to promote the site, the idea was solid and we were acquired by Norwich Union and the team behind smove.com (including me) then went on to be the driving force behind asserahome.com (which has since become propertyfinder.com).
I left there in late 2001 as I wanted a fresh challenge. Unfortunately this was in September 2001, and the day I actually decided to leave was September 11th, and after the tragic events of that day, work was the last thing I was worried about. I then spent 4 months travelling round the country and Eire catching up with friends and family as, at the end of the day, they are what are important in life.
In early January 2002 I joined Slaughter and May legal firm to help work on the design and build of both their corporate internet site and intranet used by the staff within the London office. I contracted there for 2 months and decided it wasn't for me and joined Hotcourses as I much prefer the atmosphere of a smaller company and actually knowing everyone who works there, rather than be another faceless person in a massive corporation. That's just me though.
I have also done a couple of freelance sites for people in the last 7 years, however many of them were a good few years ago now and have since been either updated or not renewed.
Below are a couple of examples of some previous designs.
